General Rules and Regulations
Attendance and Punctuality:
- Students are expected to attend school regularly and maintain a minimum of 75% attendance.
- Late arrivals must report to the school office for clearance. Repeated tardiness may result in disciplinary action.
- Any leave of absence must be requested in writing by the parent/guardian and approved by the Principal.
Respect for School Property:
- Students must treat school property, including furniture, equipment, and learning resources, with care.
- Any damage caused intentionally or through negligence will result in the student being held responsible for repairs or replacements.
Personal Conduct:
- Politeness and respect towards teachers, staff, and peers are mandatory at all times.
- Bullying, harassment, or any form of discrimination will not be tolerated and will lead to strict disciplinary measures.
- Mobile phones and other electronic gadgets are not permitted during school hours. Unauthorized use will result in confiscation.
Prohibited Items:
- Smoking, alcohol, drugs, and any illegal substances are strictly prohibited on school premises. Violation of this rule will lead to immediate suspension and possible expulsion.
- Dangerous or disruptive items such as weapons, fireworks, or inappropriate reading materials are banned.
Parent-Teacher Communication:
- Parents are encouraged to communicate with teachers through scheduled parent-teacher meetings or by appointment. Casual visits during school hours without prior notice are discouraged.
- For any issues, concerns, or emergencies, parents can reach out to the school office for assistance.
Uniform Guidelines
At Ashelles Public School, the school uniform is a symbol of unity, discipline, and belonging. Students are required to wear the prescribed uniform to maintain a neat and professional appearance.
Regular Uniform:
- Boys: White/blue shirt, gray/black trousers, black belt, school tie, and polished black shoes.
- Girls: White/blue shirt, gray/black skirt, black belt, school tie, and polished black shoes.
- Students must wear the school badge on their uniform at all times.
Sports Uniform:
- On designated sports days, students are to wear their prescribed sports uniforms, including track pants, T-shirts in house colors, and sports shoes.
Personal Grooming:
- Hair must be kept neat and tidy. Boys’ hair should be cut short, and girls with long hair must tie it back in plaits or ponytails.
- Nail polish, makeup, and excessive accessories are not allowed.
- Uniforms must be clean, well-ironed, and in good condition.
Student Discipline Policy
Our student discipline policy aims to promote a safe, respectful, and conducive learning environment. We emphasize self-discipline, responsibility, and accountability.
Behavior Expectations:
- Students are expected to uphold the values of honesty, respect, and responsibility at all times.
- Inappropriate behavior such as bullying, fighting, theft, or disruption in class will not be tolerated and will result in disciplinary action.
Disciplinary Measures:
- Minor Offenses: For minor infractions (e.g., tardiness, uniform violations), students will receive warnings or be assigned detention.
- Major Offenses: Serious misconduct (e.g., violence, bullying, substance abuse) may result in suspension, expulsion, or other corrective actions.
- A three-strike policy is in place for repeated offenses. After three warnings, the student’s parents will be called for a formal meeting with the Principal.
Restorative Practices:
- Our approach to discipline emphasizes corrective action rather than punitive measures. Counseling, behavior contracts, and community service may be implemented to help students reflect on their behavior and improve.
Staff Discipline Policy
Ashelles Public School holds its teaching and non-teaching staff to the highest standards of professionalism and conduct.

- Regular attendance and punctuality are mandatory, and any leave must be approved in advance by the administration.
